"We adopted Corn Puffs, the big awesome cat, about a year ago. We decided to call him Bill, and he's just too adorable. He adjusted very well to the forced identity crisis too ;) I'm so sorry it's taken me forever to follow up, but oh my gosh, thank you for the perfect kitty!

Mama

We love our Mamasita!
Within the first 30 minutes of getting her home, she and our cat, Frankie, were sitting side by side on the couch--a major achievement. Our little pomeranian, Sidney, was instantly attracted to Mama because she didn't pay attention to her.
She fit into our family perfectly, better than we could have imagined! It's been about a month since taking her home, and things have only gotten better.
We've seen Mama licking Frankie a few times, and we've also seen Sidney and Mama engage in small play sessions. Frankie particularly enjoys playing with Mama's tail; it makes the perfect cat toy!
Mama spends her days sleeping on the deck, or sleeping anywhere really; this girl loves to cuddle! When you come home after a long day at work, Mama will always greet you with a hug.
We have her in obedience training and she's already making some huge strides. She can walk off leash well and always checks in with you. She's a perfect exercise companion, as she enjoys going on runs and bike rides.
Thank you, Jessica, for bringing Mama to us! We love her so much.

Gemma (originally Stitches)
Female/1 year
(Adopter Photo)
When we first saw Gemma we thought she was gorgeous and then we adopted her and saw that those beautiful blue eyes turn red at night and we were taken in again that she is truly special and sweet. Gemma has completed my household.
I have two boy cats and she is the only girl cat. She rules this roost and these two boys. The two boys Jax and Speedy didn't get along well until she showed up into the picture now they are one big happy family and care about each other. Gemma has gotten old speedy (10 years) to play again and she is in love with Jax (6 years) who adores her but pretends he doesn't.
Not only has she brought joy to the cats lives but she has also brought joy to my autistic son and my daughter. My son never really engages cats and we have had speedy for years but one look at Gemma and her energy and he was playing with her and rubbing her fur which is huge. My daughter is the only girl and she just loves Gemma so much that she has taken to feeding her and brushing her and trying to carry her around just to be close to her. Gemma loves the attention and when she wants a moment to herself she finds a quite spot to sleep.
Thanks for bringing Gemma into our lives.

Nellie
Female/2 years
Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix
(Adopter Photo)
Nellie is a Chihuahua/Boston Terrier and the best friend you could ever ask for. When we met Nellie for the first time we knew she was going to come home with us.
I would have to say that she is the gold medalist for being the sneakiest sock bandit out there! I would much rather she have them then the dryer because at least this way I know where they are (she has 2 secret hiding places in our backyard). Not only does she enjoy her (our) socks but she likes to play hide and go seek, have sleeping and staring contests with her daddy, and when he didn’t have two broken feet she liked to go down to the “lake” and play with the ducks while I am away at work. On the weekends we get to have the real fun and go to the dog parks and watch her run up and down with the other dogs.
We have definitely found a life companion in her and its all thanks to Lola and Friends Animal Rescue for allowing us to adopt her.

Blue (left) and Sonny (right)
Males/1 year
Chihuahua mix
(Adopter Photo)
We adopted Blue, a carmel colored chihuahua with a longer nose. If there was ever a perfect puppy, it would be Blue.
He sleeps all night.Right from the begining he was fully potty trained and very teachable.
Blue has a sweet tooth for sliced apples and carrots. He can hear you say carrot from a mile a way!
Blue's favorite thing to do is run at the beach. Fiesta island is his secret spot.
Shortly after we adopted Blue, his biological brother was up for adoption. I had seen Sonny before, and could never get him out of my mind, and now I know why, there could not be a more special pair of pups. They look exactly alike, even though Sonny is white, their fur is like silk. They dont mind baths so much, and even cooperate while getting their teeth brushed.
Sonny is our little antagonizer. But it's all in good fun. He thinks he is a huge dog, "like Clifford", but he is only 11lbs. That doesn't stop him, and he wants to play with the big pups. I don't think anyone told him he is small.
Sonny is a tender brother, he always makes sure his brothers' ears are clean. These are two cool pups, they even sport their tye dyed hoodies at the beach.
They have been a blessing to my family. It's a blessing to adopt, and a even better that we kept the two together.

Lily is doing great and we love her so much! She has integrated very well into our family and is a wonderful family dog. She is very smart and learned to sit and lay down in her first month with us. Her favorite things to do are go for walks, chew her toys and play ball. Lily loves playing with the kids and loves to run in the yard. It is so much fun to watch her take off like a rocket…she must have some greyhound in her! She is a very energetic girl and she keeps us quite busy. She sleeps on her big round doggie bed each night in our family room and usually goes to sleep with daddy watching television! Sometimes she sneaks up on the couch with daddy after he is asleep and it is quite adorable because she sleeps on her back on the couch with him!

She has two puppy buddies in the neighborhood…Sandy and Jewels. They hang out and visit from time to time. Every morning she sits out front in our gated yard and greets the morning the walkers…most of them know her by name and say she is the cutest puppy they have ever seen. We think so too! Thank you so much for rescuing this little sweetie and allowing us to adopt her. The world needs more Lola and Friends Animal Rescues to save the animals that no one wants. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Both are doing well; vet checked them and they are OK.
They are active and very well behaved. They are still a little picky when eating but are slowly gaining weight.
Lilly is the dainty one. She has adopted Jan as her best buddy.
Daisy is outgoing and has claimed Marc as hers. She likes to play goalie with a small tennis ball. She likes to gather all the toys together and guard them.
They both run and wrestle around then take their blankie and nap.
Hope you like the pics.

Puka
Female/7 months
Husky mix
Puka has been a part of our family since early December of 2009.
Since the first day that she came home with us she has had a mind of
her own.
Puka is a ball of energy and always wiling to learn tricks. So far she has learned to sit, lay down, roll over, high five, and fetch. Puka has also learned to push open doors as well as jump over objects. There is never a dull moment with our pup.
We are very thankful to everyone at Lola and Friends Animal Rescue and a special thank you to Jessica for giving so much time and effort towards all of the animals.
When we are ready to expand our family, the first place we will look is
Lola and Friends Animal Rescue as well as telling all of our friends and family.

Kumbi
Female/5 months
(Adopter Photo)
Kumbi (a Korean cat name) came to our house on 1/21/10.
As soon as she came, she adapted to the new environment very well. Frankly we worried a little bit because she was our first pet, but we haven't had any serious problem so far. Jessica has been very helpful in many ways - giving advice, helping vaccinate and curing eye problems, to name just a few.
Kumbi is curious, playful, and sweet to people compared to other cats (other people say so as well). Nowadays we are trying to walk her in the apartment complex. She sometimes seems to enjoy being outside, but is still scared by many unfamiliar things. We were so fortunate to visit Lola and Friends Animal Rescue during their adoption event in January. Thanks again, Jessica!

Theo (originally LJ)
Male/8 months
(Adopter Photo)
Theo came into our lives when we least expected it! My boyfriend had been talking about wanting a cat, but not really looking for one. We were at the Adams Avenue Street Fair, and just happened to see Lola and Friends Animal Rescue holding an adoption event out side of a local pet food shop Pet Me, Please! We decided to go take a look at all the adorable animals. When I walked over to the kitties, I saw Theo right away! He stood out to us and was perfect! Lucky for us he was the only kitten still available, and thank god for that because I couldn’t imagine our lives with out him. I was a little nervous at first because I wasn’t sure how he would fit in with our two dogs at home. However I knew pretty quickly that he would be just fine. As the doggies were all playfully barking and enjoying all the attention they were getting from the people, Theo purred away in my arms, not affected by all the commotion. I knew Theo would be perfect, and he is! Theo and my youngest dog, Chase- a 2 year old St. Bernard/golden, play fetch together in the house. It’s so funny to watch them! Theo kind of thinks of him self as a dog I think! He has also caught on to the command “sit” when the treats come out. All 3 of my babies sit patiently for their turn. When it’s nap time, all 3 of them cuddle near each other like siblings. Bringing Theo home has been good for everyone in our home.
Thank you Lola and Friends Animal Rescue for completing our little family!

Simon (originally Skins)
Male/8 months
(Adopter Photo)
Simon has gotten nice and comfortable at our house. He's super playful, very cuddly, and he loves attention. Some of his favorite things to do are watch Finding Nemo on the television (he can do this for a long time, he follows the fish across the screen), chase feathers and the laser pointer, and dart around after a tennis ball. He's got a ton of energy and he's always ready to play. He's unbelievably friendly, and he makes friends with anyone who comes over. He likes to get attention from everyone, so he's very social.

Simon is more like a dog than a cat. He loves to hang out and do stuff and he'll follow you around the house to see what you're doing. Sometimes he sits by the window and watches the birds, but overall I'd say he's pretty happy inside. We keep him occupied. I think we're a great fit, and I'd really like to thank you for helping me find such an amazing pet! I couldn't have hoped for a better cat.

Jay is doing just great he was a little nervous of things when he first came to my house to be part of the family and a little scared to be around new people and had also shown signs of past abuse by how frightened he acted and still acts when you move too fast around him but has gotten plenty of love and attention.
From there he has been a lot better and loves to be home with us. He used to try to run off every chance he got too. Me and him have had a few good chases trying to get him back but no matter what after he has had a good run he has always came right back to me after he is done runnin' that is. But he is still very energetic and loves to give kisses as always.
He has had a great time here and he will always be loved and have all he needs in this family. I would like to thank you for such a great dog.

T.J.
Male/4 months
(Adopter Photo)
When I walked up to this wonderful little boy's cage, I knew he was meant for me. My boyfriend Alan and I adopted him on the spot. When he was brought home a few weeks later, his new sister Wasabi didn't want anything to do with him. She even turned her back on everyone and stuck her head through the blinds! The new kitten, now named T.J., wanted to play with her so bad. Over the next few days, Wasabi hissed, growled and generally complained. One day, I came home from work to find them cuddling on the couch. They are now good friends. T.J. runs around all day, he's really active and giving Wasabi a good workout. He loves everyone and he's totally fearless. My favorite thing about my day is when I come home, he's always waiting for me and chirps happily. He is a part of this family now, and he seems to love it.

Diesel (orginally Russ)
Male/7 months
(Adopter Photo)
It took Diesel no time at all to settle in to his new home. He is well mannered and is learning the rules. His new sister Roxy (who is the exact same age) was intrigued from the moment I brought him home but she was unsure of him, she had only ever lived with her brother since birth and he recently passed on. She hissed and groaned but Diesel just ignored her and continued to explore his new home. Within two hours she was done lecturing him and started to follow him around. Within 6 hours they were playing. Although the cuddling took 5-6 days, they were best friends from the get go. Now they are double trouble playing, sleeping and getting in to things together, including removing ornaments from the Christmas tree. They trill to communicate and call each other from other rooms. They are both still affectionate with my roommate and I as well as with each other. He has been an amazing addition to our home.

Gilligan (originally Pumpkin)
Male/4 months
(Adopter Photo)
Hi Jessica, it has been almost two weeks since we have brought Pumpkin
home. He has a new name ("Gilly", short for Gilligan) and a new family
consisting of a big sister named Whippy, a brother named Macho, and of
course two very happy pet parents :) Gilly has brought lots of
laughter and joy to our home. He very quickly warmed up to my boyfriend and I. Although it took a little time for my other 2 kitties to
accept him, they have done so and now all sleep in one big fur ball
every night on our bed. I was searching for quite some time for the
right kitten and I'm glad I waited. He fits in so well here and I
couldn't be happier. You run a wonderful organization and I'm truly
happy I got a chance to work with you. Myself, Sean, and all the
kitties are going to be taking a family XMAS picture for our Christmas
card this year and will send you guys one ASAP. Happy Holidays and
thanks again for everything.

Squeaks (originally Brody)
Female/2 years
(Rescue photo)
Brody, renamed Squeaks, was adopted on 11/16/09. Her little meow sort of sounds like a squeak, hence the new name. She is 11 lbs., has pretty green eyes, and was shy at first, always running to hide under the bed. But she quickly got accustomed to her new home. Now she lays on the back of the loveseat when I'm sitting there and rests her head by my shoulder to be petted; she also sleeps on the bed with me at night. She still hides sometimes -- but not always under the bed; I found her in the hall closet once. She had opened the door and was curled up on top of a throw-pillow, so I got a little pet bed for her so she could be comfy in there. If she likes those dark cozy places to nap in, it's OK by me! Her favorite toy is a purple thing with a bell inside that hangs from the doorknob. I really love her and am so glad I came across the Lola and Friends Animal Rescue website. Thanks Jessica!
